The Graduate Program in Education (PPGEdu-Faed), the first Master’s Program in Education established at UFMS and in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, was created as a result of an interinstitutional agreement dating back to 1988.
The current objectives of PPGEdu are:
- To initiate and strengthen the training of researchers in the field, ensuring they are committed to the advancement of knowledge for conducting scientific research and other professional activities related to the educational field;
- To consolidate forms of knowledge production and dissemination in the field through strategic research partnerships, publications in journals, participation in events, and the production of national and international books;
- To periodically update the program’s academic and scientific framework in order to incorporate social and educational transformations that demand new formats of teaching and research for Master’s and Doctoral training;
- To expand research and outreach activities with basic education, aiming to encompass the full scope of educational activities, informing and monitoring how basic learning needs of teachers and researchers are addressed.
